The Taijutsu and Tae Kwon Do (TKD) program offers a unique blend of martial arts disciplines and is specifically crafted for students seeking personal development and a martial arts style rooted in more of the principles of Budo. While this class primarily caters to students up to the age of 18, adults are also welcome to participate.
The Taijutsu segment of the program draws heavily from Seiyo-Ryu Aikibujutsu, a comprehensive battlefield art (Bujutsu) that encompasses various forms of combat, including lethal force techniques. However, in order to ensure the safety and appropriateness for younger students, the curriculum has been tailored accordingly. The Taijutsu segment focuses on self-defense techniques suitable for students under the age of 18, omitting any potentially dangerous or lethal techniques. This adjustment allows students of all age groups to learn self-defense in a safe and controlled environment, minimizing any risks associated with training.
By removing the more advanced and potentially harmful aspects of Seiyo-Ryu Aikibujutsu, the program ensures that the knowledge imparted in the Taijutsu segment is used responsibly and ethically. This precautionary measure significantly decreases the likelihood of any misuse or abuse of the skills acquired in the class.
Furthermore, the Taijutsu segment serves as a stepping stone for students who wish to progress further in the study of Seiyo-Ryu Aikibujutsu. While the general minimum age for attending Aikibujutsu is 14 years old, the final decision lies with the instructor, who considers the readiness and maturity of each individual student.
Our Tae Kwon Do (TKD) portion of the program, a dynamic and empowering discipline that encourages physical activity while cultivating self-improvement. In the TKD portion of our program, we prioritize the well-being and growth of our students. Our aim is to instill in them the drive to constantly seek self-improvement through the pursuit of martial arts. We understand that TKD's challenging kicks are an integral part of this journey, promoting physical fitness and agility regardless of age or ability. Our experienced instructors emphasize proper form and technique, ensuring students not only master the kicks but also develop a deep understanding of the art.
Moreover, we pay careful attention to injury prevention. Consistent stretching techniques are incorporated into TKD classes, enabling students to improve flexibility while mitigating any possibility of injury. By prioritizing safe training methods, we create a supportive and nurturing environment for each student to thrive and progress at their own pace.
In addition to unarmed skills, our program offers students the unique opportunity to explore martial weapons manipulations. This includes delving into the art of Bo-staff, Eskrima sticks, and more. By introducing students to these traditional weapons, we broaden their horizons and deepen their understanding of martial arts as a whole.
MMAG is committed to providing a holistic martial arts experience. With our focus on Taijutsu and TKD, we empower students to embrace physical fitness, constantly strive for self-improvement, and extend their knowledge and skills beyond what is expected. Join us on this journey of personal growth and martial arts mastery.
